Ornella Noulet (Saxophones, Percussions), Oscar Teruel (Piano), Anthony Jouravsky (Double Bass), Egon Wolfson (Drums, Percussions) NL Ola Tunji is een kwartet uit Brussel dat zich heeft verenigd rond saxofoniste Ornella Noulet in een gedeelde toewijding aan de spirituele jazz van John Coltrane. Hun muziek ademt de intensiteit en openheid van de New Thing-beweging uit de jaren zestig, de stroming die later bekendheid verwierf als free jazz. In 2025 komt de band in een stroomversnelling terecht want ze winnen tijdens Gent Jazz niet alleen de ‘Talent 2025 én Publieksprijs’, maar ze winnen ook nog eens de European Musical Springboard Prijs op het Jazz Festival van Avignon! EN Ola Tunji is a Brussels-based quartet formed around saxophonist Ornella Noulet, united by a shared devotion to the spiritual jazz of John Coltrane. Their music exudes the intensity and openness of the 1960s ‘New Thing’ movement, the genre that later became known as free jazz.
