2022 marks the 25 year anniversary of Motives for Jazz, a milestone we'll celebrate in style. Sunday April 3rd, we'll present a showcase festival with 7 acts which are more than worthy of a breakthrough.
A quick flashback: September 1997 gave birth to the Limburgs overlegplatform jazz [Limburgish consultation platform for jazz]. The network consisted of 10 partners: PCM Casino Beringen, the cultural centers of Genk, Bilzen, Heusden-Zolder, Maasmechelen & Peer, Kunstencentrum België [Hasselt], Muziekodroom [Hasselt] and jazz clubs The Mood [Hasselt] & Maazz/Sjruur Live [Maaseik]. A short while after, the cultural centers of Hasselt, Neerpelt & Sint-Truiden joined the network, which was then renamed Motives for Jazz. Today 25 years have passed and vzw Motives for Jazz [a non-profit organization] has grown into an autonomous organization which promotes jazz in all its varieties and develops productions in Belgian and Dutch Limburg. The numerous Limburgish jazz talents, active in various [inter]national projects, are always the starting point. The location for the showcase festival is the beautiful industrial setting of MUZE & ZLDR Luchtfabriek in Heusden-Zolder. A maximum of 200 tickets will be available & covid measures are consultable via our website or Facebook-page.
